About Our Chapter

The Dolley Madison Chapter, NSDAR, was organized on May 12, 1892, to serve our community by promoting patriotism, historic preservation, and education. Also one of 18 chapters in the District of Columbia, we are a growing, multigenerational group of women with varying interests and skillsets who share a passion for serving our community, learning about our history, and enjoying fellowship with each other!

Membership is available to any woman 18 years or older, regardless of race, religion, or ethnic background, who can prove lineal descent from a Patriot of the American Revolutionary War. We can help you find out if you have a Patriot in your family tree and will walk beside you through the application process. Visit the Membership Information page to learn more!

Attend one of our chapter meetings to learn more about us and all that we have to offer. If you are interested in becoming a member or learning more about DAR, we would love to connect with you and answer any of your questions. We also invite you to attend one of our upcoming monthly chapter meetings. Visit our Chapter Meetings and Events page to drop us a note and learn more about our next meeting! Or you can click here to email our chapter directly.
